Fredericksburg, Virginia VA Health Center Nears Completion
Carnegie Management announced today that completion of its Health Center in Fredericksburg, Virginia, currently under construction for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, is expected in July 2024. The massive 450,000 square foot, four-story facility is the largest privately-owned VA Medical Center in the country.
Carnegie received the award for the Fredericksburg clinic in 2020 and design/construction commenced in 2021. The VA Health Center is situated on a 48-acre site with extensive frontage along U.S. Route 1. The architect of record for the project is Little Diversified Architectural Consulting and the general contractor is Harvey-Cleary Builders.
The Fredericksburg Health Center features numerous specialty care clinics within the facility, such as endoscopy, dental, women’s health, mental health, eye and urology, in addition to primary care. The facility has also been designed to include a number of surgical suites for outpatient procedures. Exterior amenities include a walking trail for staff and visitors, a healing garden and a Wall of Heroes.
The Fredericksburg VA Health Center is the ninth VA award earned by Carnegie and the largest single project ever undertaken by the company. Carnegie expects to retain this trophy asset in its investment portfolio after completion and will provide property management services through its experienced in-house staff.
